Let’s start by naming the truth: most of these documents are unreadable. They are intentionally confusing walls of text written by lawyers, for lawyers. They are designed to protect the practice, not to empower you.
This is not that.
This is our human-to-human contract. It is our promise to you, written in plain English, about how we will work together, what you have a right to expect from us, and what we, in turn, will expect from you. We believe that true consent can only happen when you have all the information, clearly and without deception. This document is the foundation of the trust we intend to build.
Whether you are here for a Clarity Assessment or for ongoing Therapy & Coaching, our philosophy is the same. We are a rebellion against the pathologizing, one-size-fits-all model of mental health.
Assessments are Investigations, Not Verdicts: A Clarity Assessment is a collaborative investigation into your unique operating system, designed to produce a “User Manual” for your brain, not a list of your flaws.
Therapy is a Workshop, Not a Talk Show: Our ongoing therapy and coaching is an active, skills-based process where we are your co-producers, not passive observers.
This is a partnership, and you have rights.
You Have the Right to Be Seen as the Expert on Your Own Life. Your lived experience is the most important data in the room.
You Have the Right to a Safe Harbor for Your Nervous System. Your safety—neurological, sensory, and emotional—is our non-negotiable priority.
You Have the Right to Radical Transparency. You have the right to know what we are doing and why we are doing it, every step of the way.
You Have the Right to an Empowering Outcome. You have the right to a process that leaves you with clarity, skills, and a more compassionate understanding of yourself.
You Have the Right to End This Relationship at Any Time. You are never stuck. Our ultimate commitment is to you getting the help you need, even if it’s not with us.
Every good partnership is a two-way street.
Collaboration: We both agree to show up and do the work. Your part is to be as open and honest as you can be. Our part is to be a skilled, attentive, and compassionate guide.
Payment: We agree to be transparent with you about all fees, and you agree to provide payment at the time of service.
Our “Grace & Boundaries” Cancellation Policy: We understand that executive function challenges are real. We require 24-hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.
Your First Time: Everyone gets one “free pass” for a late cancellation or no-show per year. No questions asked.
Your Second Time: A $25 fee will be charged.
Third Time & Beyond: A fee of 50% of your hourly rate will be charged. For insurance clients, this fee is $50.
The Re-Engagement Credit: Any cancellation fee can be applied as a credit to your very next session, as long as that session is scheduled within 5 business days.
We are living in a time of profound uncertainty, and we want to be radically and unambiguously clear about where we stand.
Your story, your identity, and your diagnosis are sacred, and they are safe here.
We are bound by the strict federal privacy laws of HIPAA. But our commitment goes beyond legal compliance. It is a moral one. We will never voluntarily cooperate with any government or private entity seeking to create a registry or database of the people we serve. We will resist any such request with the full force of our legal and ethical obligations.
The only exceptions to this fortress of confidentiality are in the rare and specific circumstances required by law (e.g., if there is an imminent threat of harm to yourself or others, or in cases of child or elder abuse).
Telehealth: Our sessions are conducted via a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. A secure, private location is required.
Social Media: To maintain professional boundaries, we do not accept friend requests or follow clients on personal social media accounts.
Emergency & Crisis Support: We do not provide 24/7 emergency mental health services. If you are in crisis, you must use the appropriate emergency resources.
Immediate Emergency: Call 911
Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: Call or Text 988

Take one second. That’s all I’m asking.
Do not try to “calm down.” Do not try to “fix it.” Do not listen to the voice screaming that you need to do something right now.
Just be here, with me, for one single breath.
My name is Liz. I’ve spent years working overnight in the ER, sitting with people on what was often the worst night of their entire lives. I have sat in the eye of the hurricane, and I can tell you with absolute certainty that the chaos you feel right now is not the truth.
It is a storm in your nervous system. And a storm is just a weather pattern. It is not you. It is not permanent. And you do not have to navigate it alone.
Right now, your brain’s alarm system is screaming. The logical part of your brain has been taken offline. That is a normal, brilliant, biological survival response. But you and I are going to bring it back online, together.
We are going to do one, simple, physical thing. This is not a bulls*hit mindfulness exercise. This is a direct, manual override for your nervous system.
Place your hand on your chest.
Can you feel that? The rise and fall. The rhythm. That is the anchor. That is the proof that you are here, in this moment, and you are alive.
Keep your hand there.
Now, we are going to make one choice. The storm is telling you there are a million overwhelming things you have to do. That is a lie. There are only three choices right now, and you only need to pick one.
