Let's Be Honest: This is the Hardest Part.

You’ve read the pages. You’ve felt that spark of recognition, that quiet, earth-shattering feeling of being seen, maybe for the first time. And now you’re here, on this page, and your brain is probably screaming.

Reaching out, filling out a form, starting something new—these are exactly the kinds of tasks that can trigger the “wall of awful” and send your executive functions into a complete meltdown. The desire is there, but the ignition switch feels broken.

We know this. We built our entire process around this reality.

This page is our rebellion against the confusing, high-anxiety intake processes of the traditional system. This is your no-bulls*hit, step-by-step guide designed specifically for a brain that gets overwhelmed. We’ve made it as simple as possible. No surprises. No hidden steps.

Our Entire Process, Radically Demystified.

From this moment until your first session, there are only three steps. That’s it. We want you to know exactly what to expect, so you are in complete control of the entire process.

Step 1: The Fit Check (The 15-Minute Vibe Check)

This is the most important and least intimidating step. It is a free, 15-minute, no-pressure phone call where your only job is to interview us. It is your chance to see if our style fits what you’re looking for.

  • What it IS: A casual conversation. A chance for you to ask us any questions you have. A “vibe check” to see if you feel safe and understood. It is a human-to-human check-in to see if we’re a good fit to work together.

  • What it is NOT: It is not a therapy session. It is not a high-pressure sales call. It is not a clinical intake where you have to tell us your life story.

Step 2: The Paperwork (The Boring, But Necessary Part)

We know, nobody likes paperwork. We’ve made it as painless as possible. If we’re a good fit, we’ll send you a link to our secure online portal. You can fill everything out on your own time, in the comfort of your own space. Every question we ask is intentional and designed to give us the information we need to make your first official appointment as valuable and productive as possible.

Step 3: Your First Appointment (The Real Conversation Begins)

This is where our work together truly starts. Your first session is not a cold, clinical interrogation. It is a collaborative and conversational deep dive into what’s going on in your life. We’ll start building your personalized roadmap, getting curious about your strengths, and identifying the biggest friction points in your life. You can expect a comfortable, low-pressure environment with fidgets on the table and a philosophy of radical acceptance. Our only goal is to make you feel seen, heard, and understood from the very first minute.

The only goal of this first session is for us to start building a shared understanding of your world, your strengths, and what you hope to get out of our work together.

Your Brain is Probably Screaming These Questions. Here Are the Answers.

The anxiety of the unknown can be a massive barrier. So let’s proactively address the “what ifs” that might be holding you back.

“What if I’m not ‘neurodivergent enough’ or my problems aren’t ‘bad enough’?”

This is the imposter syndrome talking, and it’s a lie. There is no gatekeeping at Enlitens. If you are struggling, you are struggling enough. Period. We don’t have a “misery scoreboard.” If our message resonates with you, you belong here. We are here to help, not to judge the validity of your pain.

“What if you can’t actually help me?”

This is a valid fear, especially if you’ve been failed by therapists before. Our commitment is this: no one leaves the Fit Check empty-handed. If, during our conversation, we determine that we are not the absolute best fit for your specific needs, we will not leave you hanging. We will actively provide you with direct referrals to other trusted, neurodivergent-affirming specialists in our network who we believe can help.

“What about the cost and insurance?”

This is a critical, real-world question, and you deserve a direct answer. We have an entire page dedicated to our radically transparent approach to pricing, including our sliding scale rates and how we work with insurance. We believe cost should never be a mystery.

I'm terrible on the phone/video calls. What will you ask me during the Fit Check? Do I need to prepare anything?

You don’t need to prepare a single thing. The “Fit Check” is not a job interview. You are interviewing us. We’ll ask a broad, low-pressure question like, “So, what brought you to our little corner of the internet?” and then the floor is yours. It’s just a conversation. Read our guide to a low-anxiety first session.

That’s a fair and important question. We are committed to radical transparency. During the Fit Check call, we will give you a direct and honest answer about our current availability. We will not play games or leave you guessing. Learn more about our philosophy on transparency.

Booking a Fit Check commits you to absolutely nothing. It is a free, 15-minute conversation with no strings attached. If you decide it’s not the right fit, you can simply walk away. This process is built on a foundation of your consent and your control. This is your Bill of Rights as a client.

That’s a great question, and our answer is usually no, not for the first call. The initial Fit Check is for you, the parent. It’s our chance to connect, for you to ask all of your questions, and for us to understand your concerns without your child feeling put on the spot. If we decide to work together, we will then design a first session that is specifically crafted to be welcoming for your child. Read our guide on how we talk to kids about this process.

Never. We are an executive function-affirming practice, which means we get it. Our system is designed with this reality in mind. You will receive automated reminders, but if you miss the call, you will absolutely not be charged or penalized. You can simply reschedule, with zero judgment. Read our manifesto on accommodations.

Because the purpose of the Fit Check is to prevent that exact experience. A website can’t capture the human element. That 15-minute call is your chance to see if the person on the other end of the line matches the energy and philosophy we’ve described. It’s your opportunity to trust your gut. Learn why a specialist, not a generalist, is so important.

You've Done the Hardest Part
By Just Being Here.
The Next Step is Easy.

You’ve done the research. You’ve read the pages. You have already climbed the biggest part of the mountain. The next step is just a conversation. It’s free, it’s only 15 minutes, and you have absolutely nothing to lose. You are in control.

First, do nothing.

Take one second. That’s all I’m asking.

Do not try to “calm down.” Do not try to “fix it.” Do not listen to the voice screaming that you need to do something right now.

Just be here, with me, for one single breath.

My name is Liz. I’ve spent years working overnight in the ER, sitting with people on what was often the worst night of their entire lives. I have sat in the eye of the hurricane, and I can tell you with absolute certainty that the chaos you feel right now is not the truth.

It is a storm in your nervous system. And a storm is just a weather pattern. It is not you. It is not permanent. And you do not have to navigate it alone.

Right now, your brain’s alarm system is screaming. The logical part of your brain has been taken offline. That is a normal, brilliant, biological survival response. But you and I are going to bring it back online, together.

We are going to do one, simple, physical thing. This is not a bulls*hit mindfulness exercise. This is a direct, manual override for your nervous system.

Place your hand on your chest.

Can you feel that? The rise and fall. The rhythm. That is the anchor. That is the proof that you are here, in this moment, and you are alive.

Keep your hand there.

Now, we are going to make one choice. The storm is telling you there are a million overwhelming things you have to do. That is a lie. There are only three choices right now, and you only need to pick one.
